Buhari sends Boko Haram a powerful message

President Muhammadu Buhari vowed not to surrender to the extremists of Boko Haram threatening Nigeria’s unity.

Buhari stated this during the commissioning of the rebuilt United Nations, UN, building in Abuja, on Thursday.

The president, represented by the Territory of the Federal Capital, FCT, Minister Muhammad Moussa Bello, said that his Government would do its best to remain resilient to any act of terrorism.

In 2011 the UN building was bombed at Abuja by extremists from Boko Haram.

However, the president, while speaking during the commissioning said: ”Nigeria will not be cowed but will remain resilient in the face of acts of terrorism designed to break our spirit.”

He emphasized that the building’s reconstruction and commissioning showed the country’s contribution to combating terrorism worldwide.

The President said over the years, the UN has had positive results worldwide, facing global issues including international disputes, health and humanity, climate change and environmental degradation.
